Greatest Risk to Human Health from Industrial Air Pollution: Coal-Fired Power Plants
According to a report from the Clean Air Task Force, The Toll from Coal,
“Among all industrial sources of air pollution, none poses greater risks to human health and the environment than coal-fired power plants.”
In essence, we have “subsidized the poisoning of fetuses and children” through inadequate regulations governing coal plant emissions.
As the Sierra Club puts it, “Your local coal burning power plant has a new filter.” Your children.
EarthJustice states it this way: “We aren’t willing to sacrifice our health so that the rich coal-fired power industry can rake in higher profits. The technology to reduce air pollution that harms our health and the health of our children is readily available and affordable.”
Did you know that:
What are you going to do to change this?
Are you going to speak up?
Are you going to stand with us?
Or are you willing to sit by and let your children continue to be exposed to air pollution that directly affects their quality of life?
If so, I hope to hell you’ve got some great health insurance, because the cost of treating them is all on you. The companies which are responsible for these toxic emissions aren’t going to pony up any money for your health costs. They’re too concerned with their bottom line, not the toxic effects of their business.
You might also find this tool from the American Lung Association helpful, which lets you check the rating for air quality in your area:
Please don’t just stand by and let the health of our families be subject to the whim of power companies.

No! Automobiles are worse
include the millions of injured as well as those killed and then include all the chemicals used in automobiles and all the repairs and all the spin offs like drive in everythings and junk food and asphalt and parking lots and 2 car garages and loss of habitats
Industrial pollution does not include consumer autos.
