Participate in a National Day of Action for Safer Chemicals: Stroller Brigades [August 10, 2011]

Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families and their partner organizations are organizing a National Day of Action for August 10th, 2011: The Safer Chemicals Stroller Brigade:

“Are you tired of trying to find safe products for your family? It seems every week we learn about a new toxic chemical in our homes. Hormone-disrupting chemicals in household cleaners, toxic plastic and nursing pillows. It is silly that we ask busy parents to carry “products to avoid” lists when they go to the store. I think we can all agree that chemicals should be proven safe before they end up in our products.”

Join moms (and dads!) in your state to show support for a toxic-free future. Parents across the country will be participating in local events to ask their Members of Congress to be leaders in protecting our families from toxic chemicals.

“These child friendly events will feature activities from letter writing to sign making (fun for the kids). And we’ll even have red super hero capes for the kiddos to wear, asking their Senator to “be a hero and co-sponsor the Safe Chemicals Act!” Most events will feature a stroller brigade where you’ll walk to your Senator’s office to hand deliver letters of support for the Safe Chemicals Act. Be sure to bring your strollers and tell your friends!”
