A Season of Giving

On Christmas Day, I found myself thinking about how fortunate I am. When I look at the condition of so many of our brothers and sisters around the world, I know that we can do more, give more, and share more with others.

The holiday season has been described as the ‘Season of Giving’, and I wanted to share a few of my thoughts about giving with you.

Giving of our self – giving back to the world, giving to our families, and perhaps most importantly, giving to ourselves – is the theme of this video.

  • Happy holidays Derek!

Giving without the will to get back is an extremely mind opening thing. Realizing that we are all one and depend on each other is one of the biggest gifts that I got from life.
We are literally living on a deserted island somewhere in this endless universe, so why not acknowledge it and find the positive alternatives to live together?

I believe that giving can be an ongoing state of mind and not just a seasonal thing. Though, with knowing some of the human behaviors, I understand that a concentrated effort should be done to remind people and snap them out of life’s issues. Same thing I would say about being in a constant happy state of mind.
They can go together, obviouslly, and these positive states and others are always available to those who seek them inside themselves.

We are in an era of possibilities, just like it has been in the last ten thousands of years, yet the major difference is that in our current time more and more people acquire knowledge from independent, home made, reporters, rather than being fed by main stream medias in each an every country on the planet.
This is a great opportunity to connect and unite with all, drop the built-in mechanism of judgment and do something good for someone else, on the other side of the globe, as well in our local communities.

Thank you for the video and the energy. Sure thing made me think about giving, again.
The picture below is a stone I received from a friend many years ago, which is always in front of my eyes. It is curved in a way that you can close your fist on it and it will fit exactly (if you have the same size hand as I do :-)).

    Wish you happy new year,
    Aviad
