Take the pledge to slay vampires at home

electrical outletVampire energy demand, that is.

“Every year, billions of kilowatt hours of vampire energy are consumed by appliances that are “turned off.”

In the US alone, more than 100 billion kilowatt hours of electricity are wasted each year, which collectively costs consumers over $11 billion!

That means the average home in the US spends over $120 every year on vampire energy!

Not only is this a huge waste of money, but it also has a negative impact on the environment since most of the world’s electricity comes from fossil fuel power plants.

Consequently, every year vampire energy adds millions of tons of unnecessary carbon emissions into the atmosphere. And unless we do something about it, this wasteful process will continue year in and year out. “

Take the pledge to slay vampire energy in your home or office at the Earth Day Network.
