Cuisine: artistic new takes on classic dishes.

Expense: moderately expensive.

Ranked as the best restaurant in the city, EIGHT is a newcomer that works to artistically expand what you think of when you think of food.  Not only are their dishes able to make you think more about food, but they’re also delicious enough to make anyone want more.  This restaurant could make anyone want to start looking for Calgary homes for sale so they can keep coming back!

Pizzeria Gaga

Customer rating: 4.9 stars out of 5 stars.

Location: 1236 12 Ave SW.

Cuisine: affordable for most!

Expense: thin-crust pizzas and other Italian classics.

If you don’t want your food to taste pretentious, and instead you’re interested in dishes that feel like a taste of home, Pizzeria Gaga is the place to go.  With their crispy thin crust pizza pies, and the delicious classic Italian sides and pastas, you won’t want to leave once you walk in.

River Cafe

Location: 25 Prince’s Island.

Cuisine: upscale and locally sourced classic foods.

Expense: moderately expensive.

River cafe has something for everyone with taste buds.  Working to help the environment while serving fresh food, the River cafe examines how we source our food and offers a better alternative.  Although their dishes are more expensive, every bite is more delicious than the last and is worth the cost.

Marko’s Kitchen

Customer rating: 4.9 stars out of 5 stars.

Location: 5708 1 St SE #1.

Cuisine: Canadian comfort food and classics.

Expense: very affordable.

A dip into comfort foods from poutine to burgers, Marko’s kitchen understands what people want and delivers it to them time and time again.  Although this isn’t the fanciest restaurant on earth, it has foods that will wow someone of any age and taste.  The food is prepared fresh, tastes delicious, and will become an instant classic to anyone who tries it.

Ten Foot Henry

Customer rating: 4.7 stars out of 5 stars.

Location: 1209 1 St SW.

Cuisine: mostly vegetarian and high class.

Expense: very expensive.

A vegetarian restaurant may surprise some people in Calgary, but the food here doesn’t feel like it’s missing anything!  At Ten Foot Henry, each dish is made to fill your stomach and show diners how fantastic food can be without meat.  It’s not preachy and doesn’t pretend that there’s no one right way to live, but it does feed you delicious food.  Unfortunately, the dishes here can be extraordinarily expensive, but it’s worth it for the flavor that they deliver!
