You have expressed what I and other fathers have too rarely share about supporting natural births at home. Thanks for supporting dads who support their wives' choices!

Hi Derek, Thanks for your support of fathers. After reading more of your work, I thought you may be interested in Equal Exchange's fundraising program, www.equalexchange.coop/fundraiser. Perhaps your readers have schools that fundraise. I'd love to let them know about it. Thanks. Virginia, Equal Exchange co-owner.

Yes, thanks for supporting homebirth. I'm so glad you got to experience it.

I have two kids one a C-sec at hospital, (my first birth) the second a VBAC at home, 15 years ago now.

It was the most amazing experience of my life and my husband was completely supportive the whole way.

It seems homebirth is a hard choice in today's world with the medical intervention we have become accustomed to.

Very NICE! Thanks for helping to reclaim birth at home as the most natural way to welcome your babe. We have 4 children - one horrible hospital birth - one with the midwives at a birthing centre and 2 at home. For our 4th we enjoyed an unassisted water birth. The baby was in a hurry and the midwife didn't make it until 15 minutes after the birth. It was AMAZING. I guess after 3 births you know what to do, my dh knew all the right moves :) and the arrival of our 4th was just beautiful.

I salute you for supporting your wife while she went through many homebirth deliveries! Both my older brother and I were brought into this world in this manner as well. At the time it was kind of seen as very odd. (In fact most people went into the city to be born, my birth id for the town in that year is 3 :) ) My father delivered both of us at home. I feel it is a great option for women who for whatever reason would prefer a more comfortable environment. But in case something goes wrong, there is a hospital nearby. I know if I ever have children, I would choose a homebirth method. Thank you for providing your insight on this and I hope that more people will be educated on alternative birth choice methods!
