We homeschool our kids, but we actually prefer to call it unschooling.
“Unschoolers believe that the natural curiosity of a healthy child, given access to a rich environment, will lead the child to learn what he or she needs to know. When learning comes about as a result of the child’s desires, it is absorbed easily, enthusiastically, openly. The child works harder because he is doing what he thinks is important, rather than what someone else has told him is important.” [source]
I found the following over at The Barking Cow, and since I don’t have a manifesto of my own, I’m sharing this one with you. Let me know what you think.

Brilliant article and very interesting concept. It’s in line with how I hope to raise my child, the challenge is to overcome society’s constructs as a family but it’s a great journey to undergo
Jon Gold’s APA format was so bad, I could not read it.
What is APA format?
To whom it may concern,
I recently discovered your web page containing entomology content and links here:
http://naturalpapa.com/homeschool/unschooling/the-cult-of-unschooling/
I wanted to notify you about an educational resource developed by my company Orkin Pest Control. It is a fully interactive virtual cockroach designed to be an instructional tool about insect anatomy. It is located here:http://www.orkin.com/cockroaches/virtual-roach
If you think that this resource would be useful for your website users, would you mind adding a link to it on your page here:

Here is the HTML code that you could use to add the link.

Let me know what you think.
